Referral Pathway in School
Inclusion Referral Pathway
At Penair School, we are committed to ensuring that all students feel supported, included and able to succeed. Our Inclusion Referral Pathway sets out how concerns about a student’s learning, wellbeing, behaviour or access to learning are identified and supported, in line with the SEND Code of Practice and Ofsted expectations.
Concerns may be raised by students, parents or carers, or staff. Teachers will always begin by putting high-quality teaching strategies and reasonable adjustments in place within the classroom. Progress is carefully monitored, and families are kept informed.
If concerns continue, the Inclusion Team works closely with staff, students and families to explore strengths and needs in more detail. Where appropriate, an Inclusion Referral is reviewed to determine the most suitable support.
Support may include in-class strategies, targeted interventions, pastoral or wellbeing support, or involvement from external professionals. All support is regularly reviewed and adjusted to ensure it is effective and responsive to the student’s needs.
Our aim is to remove barriers to learning, promote independence and wellbeing, and ensure every student at Penair School is supported to achieve their full potential.
