Fun Fit
Summary of Intervention: To support students showing signs of coordination and motor planning difficulties. Students are identified by RON or outside parties. Baseline assessments are used to determine areas of concern and appropriate exercises used to improve co-ordination skills, underlying postural stability and balance. Fun Fit aims to improve the foundations of movement.
Expected Outcomes: Activities designed to aid hand-eye co-ordination, special awareness and body awareness are used to improve handwriting, fine and gross motor skills, and executive function skills.
Finger Gym
Summary of Intention: Finger gym activities are used to help students develop their fine motor skills and exercises the muscles in the fingers and hands that are used when writing. The programme aims to improve writing ability, use of buttons, keyboard keys, zips and general fine motor skills. Activities help to improve problem solving skills and logical thinking.
Expected outcome: Activities designed to aid hand-eye co-ordination are used to improve handwriting, fine motor skills, and executive function skills.
EAL
Summary of intention: Students identified through data information collection. Sessions allow students to voice their views around being in a new environment, from these strategies are developed and agreed to aid in the reduction to the language barriers potentially limiting learning and progression.
Expected outcome: Students to feel more confident in the school environment and for lesson to be inclusive of their needs to allow for progression to their full potential.
Loud and Clear
Summary Of Intention: Students determined through RON, medical records and staff referrals. A talking group aimed at providing an emotional check-in and to identify strategies to help students access learning within the classroom.
Expected Outcome: Strategies and reasonable adjustments determined to enable students to access the curriculum without barriers.
