Welcome to the Governing Board of Penair School

On behalf of the board of governors of Penair School, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our academy trust. Our Governing Board are a group of enthusiastic volunteers, drawn from our local community, who bring with them diverse experience and skillsets.  We are all very proud to play our part in supporting the school, its staff, and most important of all, our pupils so that they receive the very best education and experience that we can provide.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, Penair School draws its pupil population from a wide and diverse catchment area, and as governors, we want every pupil, to feel safe, to enjoy their time at Penair. Our role at the School is to ensure every pupil feels enabled to achieve the very best for themselves in both their academic and personal development. To this end, we commit to doing our utmost to ensure that all our students receive the best teaching and any other support that enables them to thrive during their time with us.

The main responsibilities required of us as governors are to:

• Set the strategic direction of the trust
• Hold senior school leadership to account
• Oversee the academy trust’s financial performance
