Penair School is an academy trust and has a board of trustees known as the governing body.
As the chair of Penair Academy Trust, I lead the governing board of trustees, ensuring that we focus on the three priorities required of us by the government:
- ensuring the school has a clear strategic vision, ethos and direction
- holding the Headteacher to account for its educational performance and that of its pupils
- making sure the money entrusted to us is properly managed
All governors are volunteers and are drawn from the local community, bringing with them diverse experience and skillsets. Most of us have a connection with the school through current or past pupils but this is not essential to our role. We are all very proud to play our part in supporting the school, its staff, and our pupils.
We want every pupil to feel safe, to enjoy their time at Penair, and to feel enabled to achieve the very best for themselves in both their academic and personal development. To this end we will continue to do our utmost to ensure that all our students receive the best teaching and other support that enables them to thrive during their time with us.
